Governance

SVM&C is led by independent, non-partisan, indigenous professionals who have deep experience in building the capacity of the people including teachers, traders, human rights activists, child protection advocates, agricultural specialists, ICT professionals, conflict resolution and peace building actors, and community leaders.
The Board of Directors and Staff represent a broad cross-section of Somali affiliations in keeping with its mandate to serve all the people. SVM&C-Somalia intends to build its reputation on Inclusivity where no matter their location or emphasis of work, no member of the community will be left out. SVM&C professionals and leaders will intervene in local situations to serve as a bridge between communities, between indigenous peoples and local tribes, between local authorities and community leaders, and between national and international aid organizations. We shall serve as the voice of the people who have no voice. This is the philosophy of the founders and it is infused throughout the organization.
